From Ubud's jungle calm to the wild cliffs of Nusa Penida and the barefoot Gili shores — curated, unhurried Bali journeys designed by travelers, for travelers.
Why OurTaleOfTravel
We don't send you to the same five viewpoints as everyone else. We know which waterfall to reach before the tour buses, and which cliff edge belongs to the morning light. That's the difference.
Hidden cave-pools like Tukad Cepung, quiet east-coast beaches, terraces before the crowds — routed to dodge the queues most operators walk you straight into.
Jungle resorts above Ubud, ocean-view rooms on Nusa Penida, barefoot beach huts on Gili Trawangan. Hand-picked properties that are part of the trip, never just a bed.
No island-in-three-days sprint. We build in slow mornings, spa afternoons and sunset hours so you actually feel Bali — not just photograph it.
Every Bali route is reviewed and refined by us personally. If we wouldn't travel it this way ourselves, we won't sell it to you.

Not a checklist — a handful of scenes worth crossing the world for. Each one belongs to specific packages, marked below — tap a package card above to see the full day it sits inside.

Unhurried · In Full · Wild IslesFifty bare-chested dancers raising an ancient chant on a clifftop a hundred metres above the Indian Ocean, exactly as the sun goes down.

“The best Bali moments aren't at the famous spots. They're in the quiet light nobody told you about.”
Our Story
OurTaleOfTravel began as a couple's quiet obsession — chasing nature, hunting down stays that felt like experiences in themselves, and finding the corners of a place most itineraries skip.
What we kept noticing was that most travel felt rushed and oddly forgettable. Packed vans to the same viewpoints. Hotels that could be anywhere. Days timed to the minute.
So we built something different. Every Bali journey we offer is one we'd take ourselves — unhurried, immersive, rooted in nature, and shaped around the moments you actually remember.

Bali Travel Guide
The essentials before you go — and yes, we walk you through every one of these personally once you book.
April to October is the dry season — sunshine, calm seas, the easiest island crossings. May, June and September hit the sweet spot of good weather and lighter crowds.
Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Cards work in most hotels and restaurants; carry some cash for warungs, markets and the small harbour donations on Nusa Penida.
Most nationalities, including Indian passport holders, get Visa on Arrival, extendable once. Rules and fees change, so we confirm the current process with you before you fly.
You arrive into Denpasar (DPS). From India, most routes connect via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok, with some seasonal direct options. We'll advise the smartest routing.
Warm and tropical year-round, roughly 26–32°C. Dry season April–October; the wet season (Nov–Mar) brings short, heavy afternoon showers rather than all-day rain.
Indonesian and Balinese are spoken locally, but English is widely understood across hotels, drivers and restaurants. A smile and “terima kasih” (thank you) go a long way.
A local eSIM or airport SIM gives you cheap, fast data island-wide. Wi-Fi is reliable in Ubud and Seminyak, patchier on Nusa Penida and the Gilis — which is half the point.
Your trip runs on private drivers, so you never touch a scooter unless you want to. Island legs use scheduled fast boats; the Gilis themselves are car-free — cidomo cart or bicycle only.
Honeymooners, first-time international travelers, friend groups and families who want nature, culture and beach in one unhurried trip — without the planning headache.
Travel facts above are general guidance and can change. We confirm the latest visa, flight and entry details with you at the time of booking.
Good to Know
The dry season, April through October, is ideal — reliable sun and calm seas for the Nusa Penida and Gili crossings. May, June and September give you that weather with fewer crowds. The wet season still works for a jungle-and-spa trip; expect short afternoon showers rather than washout days.
Most travelers, including Indian passport holders, receive a Visa on Arrival that can be extended once. Because fees and the online pre-registration process change from time to time, we send you the current, correct steps before you depart so there are no surprises at immigration.
Every package here is private and personalized — your own driver, your own pace, dates that suit you. Tell us if you'd prefer a small-group departure and we'll let you know what's running.
Same route, two moods. Adventure fills your Gili day with island-hopping, snorkelling the coral gardens and turtle points, and a faster pace. Leisure trades that for a slow island day — spa, beachfront cafés, a bicycle loop and a golden-hour sunset. You pick on the package card, and the itinerary updates to match.
The “starting from” price is per person on twin-sharing and reflects the season and stays shown. A small forex component is billed at the prevailing exchange rate until fully paid, exactly as set out in your proposal. We never round up or hide numbers — you see the same figures we do.
Always. Every itinerary here is a starting point. Want an extra night in Ubud, a yoga morning, a private villa, or to swap a temple day for a beach day? Tell us and we'll reshape it around you — that's the whole idea.
